At the Federalist, I revisited a topic that intrigues me: the feminist man. In teaching our children to discern predators, one recurring trope is the self-interested man who proclaims loudly his passionate interest in the betterment of women.
Turns out, sadly but entirely predictably, that the ultra-successful music and fashion tastemaker who so publicly spoke out in favor of “love” and “change” for women…was pummeling them in hotel hallways and being vile and vicious behind closed doors. Allegedly.
My take on the sad story is how blatant it all was. P. Diddy was a household name for his music, and his clothing line was a staple of school children’s wardrobes. Yet he was a self-professed “bad” boy who continually objectified women and aspired to hedonistic, drug-fueled sexual exploits. What did we think we were paying for?
It’s a sad story. Made sadder by the fact that this is unlikely to be the last of the “feminist man.” Teach your daughters to recognize this cad and avoid his cruel materialist snares. Her soul of infinite worth deserves infinitely more.
